well in GT4 , the only freakin infini i can get is green metallic .... i cant even get the black one !! so i guess its a IV ??

I just picked up a Infini Ver 4.

not true every ver 4, I have seen has A/C. it might have been a dealer option but I have not seen one with out A/C

yes mine has it but it looks much tinner than my other FC

mine does if looking at the front bumper its on the right side next to the FTP

and the FTP does not work as FTP light it has a city light blub in it.


yes its red and uses 6 bolts unlike most that use 8 bolts



something else about ver 4 vs ver 3
ver 4 window is broze tinted from factory ( like the 10thae )
ver 4 have a smaller more compact master brake cylinder
ver 4 have a smaller power steering pump

The seats are the same in the ver 3 and 4. but there are some ver 4 that got the Mazda Speed package with differnet seats The mazda speed ones also came with mazda speed shift **** ( the package was more a style package and not performace updates )


True this was installed at the dealer only.
the old owner of mine installed at cd player in it but the radio does not work becuase my car does not have an antenna

yes power windows. just like jerk racer my driver side power window switch was toast, for right now Im using a FD power window switch to controll it.

no power locks
floor mats with the infini logo
passanger side foot rest bar ( oshiet bar )
no sunroof
no rear seats bins only
carpet is black and thinner than other fc's I have had
power mirrors but not power retracting ( GTX and GTR have power retracting mirrors )
yellow driving lights ( the old owner removed them from mine )

Ok after having a friend that works at Mazda call and talk with someone that was involved with the Infini Project Line. there are 2 Sub vers of Infini IV
June - Dec 1990 Cars.
Jan - 1991 Cars ( he didnt give me the last production month )

I had asked him to find out about the paint code. My car's build plate say GU for the paint code, and it made me wounder.

Info he got back was that the
1st 300 Infini IV cars built from June - Dec 1990 are paint code GU Shade Green
the other 300 Infini IV cars built starting Jan 1991 are paint code VQ
of the 300 1991 Infini IV cars 20 of them where sent to Mazda Speed for the Mazda Speed Package. Minor cosmetic changes only.


I asked him to get me as much info as he can. also I asked for info on all Infini's their paint codes and equipment

87GTR - All of that sound deadener weighs about 20#. All of it. At least according to my bathroom scale. I just got done chipping it out and what it came up to. The tranny tunnel seems to have the regular thick sound deadener, but the stuff on the firewall and the passenger area floorpan is very thin and a PITA to remove. The tar in the trunk area is thin, too. But it's different and comes out nice and easy.

I took some pics today of some thing on an Infini

The passanger side foot bar
infini floor mats
Infini steering wheel

and the rear hatach light is mounted above where the jack is kept. I have not seen it on other fc's I dont know if its a Infini only thing or not.

well it turns not an Infini thing from what Im told its 89+ cars the light is like that.

I have a light just like that in my S5 GTU, is there another plastic piece on the other side simialr to it but without the light?

Also is that the stock Infini IV spoiler? It doesnt look like any other I've seen on an FC

yeah it has the just a plastic piece on the other side. must have been a S5 thing. my old FC was S4, so this is the 1st time I really looked at S5 hatch light. so we can scratch tha off the list.

The rear wing on my infini is not a stock one. its a RE Amemiya one. I going to be replacing it with a stock one when I repaint the car.

Hey 87GTR does the power steering pump have two hoses or three hoses coming off of it?

Hi,
I am fortunate enough to have the only Infini IV in the UK and Europe. I will give as much info as needed, but she is by no means standered.

Steering rack, as i recall, has 2 hoses. Will look tomorrow.
Final drive is 4.3:1
All gears the same as other T11, except 5th which is 0.72.

Something to add to your spec is the steering wheel. I believe it is a Momo item, or very similar.
