Indian Summer

Indian Summer
Seems to me it's an indian summer today.
The temperature is above freezing, the roads are dry and salt free and most importantly, the gas price is DOWN today!!!
The 7 haven't been started in 2 weeks, how I long for the growling sound from the motor. At the flick of the keys, the motor was ALIVE... Idle was quite high due to the cold start but the sound was still very satisfying. I let it idle for a few minutes and away we go.
I took it easy off the bat, shifting around 2500rpm just to warm up the car and was unsure as to how my bald Dunlop SP Sport was holding up. I've now past a couple of lights and have reached my first stop, Sunoco gas station. My car was treated with a healthy tank of 87 octane and now it's ready to go.
The weather is around 5C, it was warm enough to put the sunroof up and the windows partly down just so that I can listen to the wonderful sound of the exhaust. At part throttle, the car sounded like a sleeping tiger. However, it's eager to be awaken. This is evident from the fact that everytime it goes over 4000 rpm, the car just jumps ahead. I was hooked.....
I am ready, the lights were red, the oil gauge is at it's proper pressure, temp is warm and A/F at 14.
The light turns green and I dump the clutch at 3000rpm. A slight chirp at the tires and away I go. As the RPM build up, I was awarded with the mechanical sound of the engine and the thrust when I high 6000 rpm. The buzzer came way too fast and "POK" I shifted into second. Keeping the pedel to the metal and an eye on the Greddy A/F gauge, I am staying at 14, redline again "POK" and I shift into 3rd.
The curves were coming up FAST, a medium left followed by a easy right and a easy left. Going 100mph in 3rd, I brake and heal-toe into 2nd. Tail steps out and I counter steer into a smooth drift. Car tracks straight again and give it all it's got. I easily manuvior my way through the right and left turn and I was at school already. DAMN, I wanted more, but it's time for homework again .
Had to share.....
Cheers.
