FL Im new to the rotary world... *PICS*

I was in daytona at a carshow/swap meet this past weekend.

Saw this and price was 3,000 so i bought it

and yes thats almost 31,000 original miles, i have all service records from day 1 on the road.

i was mainly wondering what exaust should i go for, othr than exaust wheels and tires, what else can i do to keep it reliable and gain power? What is a good set of wheels or what to look for, and is there any specific milage to do a rebuild? Also, my sunroof is off the track, not that i plan on using it anytime soon

nice find...racing beat makes a nice exhaust. pick whatever wheels you want. start with changing the fluids, spark plugs, oil/air/fuel filter, etc. you should be okay for a while on a rebuild if it has that low of miles.

Hey, thats quite clean. Congratulations. The S4 NA motor should be good till at least 125K...probably more. It looks as if its been babied so as long as you take as good of care, it should be just fine for quite a while. Sorry I cant help with the sunroof, having problems with that myself. Im afraid to take it apart because my house does not have a garage.

Hope you dont get turbo envy...

Yeah, I should have said Turbo II envy... I bought my GXL when I was a kid, and now wish I had bought a Turbo II. I refuse to sell my GXL, and have a DD also... I cant justify 3 cars.

Nice find.

There is no general mileage for a rebuild. It depends on how the car is serviced and driven. N/A's generally last longer than turbo'd 13b's.

With 30k miles, I'm sure compression won't be an issue for a long time. The other concern is the coolant seals, so just make sure the coolant is mixed with distilled water and changed regularly. The seals sit in a groove in the side irons, which can erode and let them slip out due to lack of cooling system maintainence.

You may want to search pre-mixing info on here. A supplemental pre-mix in the tank of 2 stroke oil helps keep things from wearing.

Well first off great find dude. Now what you should do is get very familiar with routine maintenance and make sure you do whats needed every xxxx amount of miles or x amount of months. Believe me it'll help to make your car last a lot longer. You should check out the guide to NA power or whatever the threads called...just search for it. It'll give you a detailed guide on how to get the most out of your NA.

Lemme be the first to say I LOVE the color. BRG, or close to it, has always had a soft spot in my heart. Nice find!

The moon roof isnt too bad to take apart. It was one of the first things I ever did on my first T2. Try to get a schematic from a mazda dealer. That's what I did.

that's not an Original color. I used to live in Daytona.....I had a white TII. Go do some basic maintenance and get the car back up to spec. you'll have fun.

Nice.

Just do all the scheduled maintenance, especially cooling system stuff as mentioned. Use OEM thermostats. The list of scheduled maintenance is in the FSM (dl from FAQ), Haynes manual, or owners manual if you need it. For the body wax it & protect the vinyl every 6 months, wash off bugs/sap/poop within a week.

For NA upgrades it's mostly the mufflers and catalytic converter. You probably won't need new shocks for a while. Maybe at 75k+ miles on the odometer. But when you do you can get performance shocks and springs at the same time so you can install at the same time. Then get swaybars. Search forums for opinions on different brands. Racing Beat is the most popular for their quality. Mazdatrix is also good.

yea i was looking at swaybars today,, i kinda wanna find a good replacement for the stock AAS, my passenger rear is kinda gone, but i like the option of the auto adjust,

can i do anything injectorwise? i know they have a K&N high flow filter, and are there are aftermarket intake manifolds, but are there any without having to go carburated?

but yea the car sure is green, and theres 2 or 3 spots i need to sand n fill (little rust on the hatch you can see in first picture) but otherwise shes clean

welcome to the club!!!

Nice find man, really clean looking 7 there. The green isn't my favorite but what the hell right, who cares what color is, thats sick low mileage. I really hope it lasts a long time for you, my first RX7 was an '88 GXL but mine was auto.

Maybe leave it stock for a while, just get it in tip top shape and then worry about more power and stuff.

Thats a nice rx7, just treat her well and you'll love it.

I think you should fix whats broken, and just enjoy the car. It's too much of a virgin to go crazy with the modifications. As for the struts that are bad, there are plenty of replacement options. I opted for the KYB AGXs. Theyre 4-way adjustable in the front and 8-way in the read. The settings make a huge difference in handling and ride. I got mine new on ebay for $360.
