Ignition problems

ok so i have an 88 n/a with brand new plugs and a spare ignitor that i just finished swaping on...my problem started yesterday when i was driving to work and as i was accelerating i noticed a bit of a hesitation through 2300 rmp, no big deal i thought i mean it wasn't all that dramatic. however as soon as i started to cruise at about 2500 i could feel an huge loss in power that was very jerky and actually made the car shake quite noticeably, like people driving beside were giving the ohh **** look...this lasted pretty much the whole way there and back and once i got it home i put my timing light on the plug wires closest to the front of the car because the back two seemed ok and it seems like its not working right because you can actually see a huge delay in the flash at times and the motor misses and sounds like **** when this happens...after this happening with both ignitors im suspecting its the wires but has anyone encountered this before at all??

A timing light is not a reliable way to check for spark. You need a spark tester for that.

The leading plugs both fire at the same time and are two sides of the same coil. So if one works, so does the other.

What is the condition of the plug wires? Can you pull the plugs and post a picture of them?
