Ignition coils bad???? HELP PLEASE!!!

My dad and i tested all the spark plug wires with a timing light and we found something very interesting. the rear lower plug wire only send about half the amount of shots that the other plug wires do. is this a bad coil??? please reply very soon because it is a semi urgent problem. thanks sooo much in advance.

How does the car run? Does it idle rough? Did you try doing the test right at the coils?

it starts up fairly easily. not the greatest but it starts. and it goes to 3k rpm's for a little bit then just seems to drop down. if i manually warm it up for say a few minutes it idles a little lower than it should. i bought this car this way and knew there were problems with it. but it dosen't seem to want to idle and i'm having troubles getting the idle to idle higher. and if i try to step on the gas hard while not in gear it goes and gives out. keeps running but won't go higher on the rpm's unless you baby it all the way up there. and the car isn't really too driveable right now so i had it towed home and it's been worked on ever since and i'm still confused. thanks much

I am wonderin if my coils are shot as well. But my problem is much worse. I can't get the car to turn on. Ran fine till one day, so it seems electrical. Will do everything but turn on. Anyone know how to check the coils? O yea, its not the plugs, wires, fuel filter, or alternator. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure that the wires themselves aren't bad.I would probably put some new wires on it and some new plugs too just to rule them out as not being the problem. If the plug is fouled bad enough it won't fire properly and could show up as fewer shots on the light.

Check all your wires again and make sure they are on the right spark plugs, the two trailing coils/leads/plugs should only be firing half as much as the two leading coils/lead/plugs, cause that is how it is supposed to work,

First of all i would check to make sure that is what you are getting, then i would worry about what is a miss. make sure you know its a wolf before you start crying it.............
