ignition coils
ignition coils
Are the ignition coils the same from n/a to turbo? (86 n/a - 87 TII)?
Think one of my coils are going. Either that or the connections and such just need to be cleaned which i will be doing tomorrow and testing the coil.
But when I hook up the timing light....the coil that controls L1 and L2 make the light flash much slower then the T1 and T2.

Go look at the factory service bulletins on ALLDATA.COM. This *problem* was addressed in one of the early ones. IT is a timing light problem, not a car problem. IF you have one of those that has a inductive clamp that goes over the wire and has an arrow that points towards the sparkplug.......just reverse that clamp on the plug wire. The flash should now be more consistant.
If one lead wire is sparking consistently.......then we can guarantee the other lead plug wire is firing consistently. They fire at the same time and HAVE to both be firing if one is firing. http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/articles/demystifying.html

Oh man thats kind of funny. I was kind of hoping that was my problem for me pinging up top. Oh well...it must be the way the timing is and i havnt been able to get my idle down to set it correctly!
