Ignition coils.

Start car up, it revs to about 2500 then dies straight away. If I give it gas on startup, it won't die, but sounds very bad (like a rough bridgeport). All the vacuum hoses were just replaced (and car idled fine ). After a few days, I started having problems trying to start the car when it was warm. It would start, but wouldn't idle. After driving for about 15 minutes, the idle would be fine. Now it won't idle even if engine is cold. I was told that it could be the ignition coils. I had them replaced by Mazda 5 months ago (with used, after market ones, CA$600 ).
Is there anyway of easily testing if the coils are bad?

mine does the same thing....when i start the car up..if i dont press the accelerator and hold it around 3000 rpms for around 2 minutes it just dies...after the two minutes it idles at 1700-2000 rpms...i was told to check my bac...basically run the car and unplug the electrical connector from the bac..if there is no change then that means the bac is bad...not so sure..so keep on asking others aswell...

Son of a Biatch!!

I checked the (newly replaced) vacuum hoses, and found the large one on top of the manifold had broken in half! There was enough left for me to fit it on, and now the car idles fine.
So much for these silicon hoses being strong.
