Ok, so i haven't been able to buy my FC yet, but once i get it, i really really reaaaalllyy want to do a weber carb setup. if i get all of the parts, (which i also need to know what is needed to do this swap) would someone be willing to come down and help me set it up? of course I'd pay, but for someone with experience on carbs and carb swaps. thanks guys =)

I dont know anything about carbs but I do know several people with carbed fc's, so I can tell you what I know. You'll need a low pressure fuel pump, a manifold made for a carb and a first gen distributor to control ignition. Hope this helps.

Yes, a carb set up would never meet C.A.R.B. regulations. hehe....

If this is a street car, a Weber is a poor choice. I'm far from a carb expert (though I do have some experience) but I don't think that Webers have chokes. Any Weber car I've ever started has taken a lot of pedal pumping and several attempts.

There's not much you really need to know to go to a carb.

Pull off EFI manifolds, bolt on carb and manifold. Convert fuel system to low pressure by using a lower pressure pump wired to IGN through an inertia switch and relay. Install dizzy from 81+ RX-7 (electronic, while previous models were points) and use a good set of coils.

Maybe something to do with the terrible power drop-off that S4 NA's have around 6800RPM because of the intake manifold?

You should do a 3 rotor n/a. I've been there-n-done that with carbing a 13b. It had the cool "rare" factor but it was a pain in the *** to tune. Mine was hard though because I was running a blow through set up with a Holley 650 dbble pumper and secondary injectors. I say 3 rotor because I saw one here at "7 Days" with a periphial port and it was bad ***. Decent power also.

Sorry....I forgot. I live in Japan where they aren't as much. I also forgot how fast forum people are to make assumptions and talk smack. I'm sorry for recommending a 3 rotor n/a build to someone who wanted to step outside of the "norm". Myabe you should take a step outside of the "norm"...and you could be this so call "retarded" just like me Rock on RX7Club!
