Idling Problem
welcome to the boards dude.. you might wanna turn off your caps before you get flammed .. as for the idle.. i cant tell if your saying 500 or 5000.. if 5000 yo uhave a vaccum leak or something like that ,, if its low .. you might need to adjust the idle screw.. you might need to do it on both scenarios ..
Just this week, I fixed a 1500rpm idle on my '87TII. It was all vacuum related. I disassembled the entire top, and replaced ALL the rubber. Fuel Vacuum and water. I have a large pile of black macaroni on my work bench. Most of the hoses were brittle and cracked.
While apart, I replaced the Oil Injector Lines. These were brittle too.
Anyway, when I started it up after all this, it starts at 2500 for about 13 seconds, then suddenly drops down to 750 and sits there steady as a rock.
Very smooth idle with no hiccups, bumps or variation.
