idles perfect with heater on, rough without

so i searched and 99% of posts that came up were with the OPPOSITE problem of what i am having. my car idles rough until its warmed up then it idles decent but its still a little shaky and jumpy....but when i have my ac ON (cold or hot makes no difference) the idle is just heavenly smooth. does anyone have any idea what this might be? almost makes me wanna drive with my a/c on all the time but i dont wanna drain it or waste extra gas considering my already horrible mpg

When the A/C is on, the timing advances (IIRC) and BAC adds air to compensate for the extra load of a/c so maaybe check the specs on BAC (adds air for any load ie: electrical, a/c, p/s.

The Thermowax stables the idle on a cold start up so you dont have to hold your foot on the gas until warmed up. Check and make sure the fast idle cam and thermowax are in spec via FSM.

Also check... Timing, TPS

i had the same problem too on my old GXL, i found i didn't have too have the AC on. all i had too do was have the air blowing. not like full out but just move the slide just so it turns on and it should idle just fine
