Idle and running problems!

I got an 87 TII and its not in bad shape. I talked to a guy who also has one by me but lately i havent been able to get a hold of him. Anyways my problem is this: My baby idles ruff. I'm trying to figure out what you guys are saying to check but i dont know that much about engines just yet so i dont know what all the abreviations people were posting, also when im running high closing in on my redline full throttle the engine kinda boggs. A couple of times my turbo wouldnt boost. I think thats just a wastegate problem though. Any ideas...

Throttle position sensor-Sends signal to ecu indicating the position of the throttle. If you search there's a write up on the adjustment. Look for adjustment for the 87/88 as the 89/91 different. Buy a Haynes manual. Cheap and good info.

well i think i figured out why the idle is so bad, its a vacume leak. I did a test and found it coming from the intake manifold so im 90% sure its that seal that i need to replace.
