Angry idle problems

my last rx7 was just totalled (and it had a rebuilt engine in it with 8,500 miles and a new downpipe ). but i saw a 88' turboII on sale for 2,000 so i bought it. the car runs good except for its idle. Whenever it idles, the rpms drop and it just dies. what do you think may have caused this to happen?

My guesses in order:
1. Vacuum Leak
2. BAC Valve either not working or not communicating w/ECU
3. Idle just needs adjusting
4. Fuel Filter
5. Air Filter
6. Throttle Body dirty or possibly leaking (do you smell exhaust in the car?)

Have you done a compression test?
