idle problem
I did some searching and couldn't find anything that quite matched this problem. My 91 NA vert that I just bought had its fifth and sixth ports stuck. We ran some amsoil power foam through the engine and sure enough we were able to loosen the ports. One side effect now is my idle is high. It used to idle at about 750 or so and now it idles at 1500 fairly consistently. Sometimes if you play with the throttle a bit by giving it some quick gas the throttle will go back down to about 750, but if you give it just a little gas it will get "stuck" at 1500 again. Whatever the case so far I lubricated the butterflies in the throttle body a bit, but that didn't do the trick. Any other ideas? I just want to get that idle nice and healthy again. Thanks.

Lube the throttle linkage points and check to make sure your throttle cable is not binding or set too tight. Otherwise, set the TPS and clean the BAC, then set the idle correctly. Search will get you lots of info on how to do those things.
Many things affect the idle in this car so you may be in for a lengthy troubleshooting session to find the problem. Things like vacuum leaks, poor grounds, failing alternator, and on and on.

More symptoms
Thanks for the reply, but was wondering if anyone could help me narrow things down. I had a new symptom I found today. I started the car after it had been driven and got a perfect 750 idle or so. I gave it just a little gas and it gets stuck on 1500 again. I noticed I had the heat fan on. I turned it off and the car's idle then would pulsate between 1200 and 1500. The moment I would turn the fan back on even a little bit the idle was a smooth 1500. Turn it back off it would pulsate! This just all seems so weird. Help please.

More info help or input anyone?
So here are a few more things I have discovered. I can get my idle to return to 750 by using my clutch. If I let out the clutch while holding the brake and having the car in gear I can get the idle down and it will stay, but if I hit the throttle it will stay at 1500.
I checked my TPS and it was about 1.2k. This is a little high but not too bad I thought. If I unplug it the idle goes to about 900 but is not real steady. I wasn't sure if this was normal. Turning off the heat still caused a pulsating idle. If anyone has an explanation of why turning off the vent fan causes this rough idling please share.
I was thinking perhaps next I should clean my BAC. Again any thoughts please share. Thank you. I just would love to know why this appeared after doing the power foam cleaning. The engine bay was also power washed but not sure what that would have caused.
