Idle problem

I know you guys have had many threads started about bad ideling but im stuped. I put my car for rest for a week waiting for my FD alternator wich is great by the way. While it was put down i decided to do a little tinkering i took off the trhottle body and such and put it back on and connected everything im positive. Broke a thermostat housing. Got a new one 2-1/2 weeks later and then got a new alternator belt Fired it up dies. i notice some smoke coming under the hood it a coolant leak for the thermostat housing....im guessing from not having a new gasket dont even know if there is one there. So do you think that could have anything to do with ideling??

Yep, the thermostat isnt going to prevent you from idling. You must have forgotten to connect something or you reused your gaskets. Not a good practice.
