It sounds like you have a problem in the fast idle area. There is a part on the throttle body called a thermo wax. It has a little round steel tower sticking out of the bottom with a screw against it at an angle. There are 2 adjustments related to it. One adjusts the fast idle cam for a cold engine. The other one adjusts how fast the fast idle is. They may need adjustment. Or, the thermo wax itself could be defective. What should happen as the car warms up, the round steel tower should extend, taking the ramp away from the fast idle cam. Maybe the tower is stuck out. At any rate, the haynes manual has a good write up on page 133, or you can get it from a shop manual. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I didn't know you performed the mod. What you are describing is a known disadvantage to performing this mod - that is, no fast idle on a cold engine. There is a reason all that stuff was on the throttle body - you chose performance over driveability when doing this mod. From here on out, you will need to do a "manual" fast idle - use your right foot to keep the idle up until the engine warms up enough to sustain a 750 rpm idle. The only other alternative I can suggest is kicking up the idle to about 900-1000 rpm - maybe it won't stall then. Good luck!
