Idle issues after standard transmission conversion

Idle issues after standard transmission conversion
I have an 89 FC vert. after being converted from an automatic to a standard transmission. for some reason if im sitting at a stop light or something like that it will idle funny, it will idle up from 1000 rpm to 1200 erraticly, anyone have any ideas why?
