Exclamation Idle issue?

Read on and tell me if you can come up with a better analogy... From a cold start, my '87 SE fires right up, idles just fine for about one minute.... then dies. Then if I try starting again, it fires up then dies right away, and if I touch the throttle, it dies even faster!

What the hell? I honestly don't know where to start with this thing. I figure the usual vacuum leak or TPS shouldn't be the problem since it idles just fine in the beginning. Could it be fuel injectors? I pulled the spark plugs and they were pretty well gunked up...

The engine is bone stock and I've never had any problems before. BTW this all started after the car sat for about a week while I was fiddling with the logicon and wiper switch.

How many miles on her? Give her a full tune up and try cleaning the BAC valve?

Ha! Looks like the original title for the thread was a little much for the admins... Hint: it rhymes with prenature innoculation. Anyways, the car has 120,000 miles and regular maintenance under my watch. Seems like a big coincidence this all happened after I replaced the logicon (which now works great), although I can't think of anything that would have to do with my problem.

Make sure the AFM is plugged in and check for air leaks in the intake plumbing. May have nothing to do with your work on the wiper/logicon.

It was plugged in, but when I pulled the AFM out and checked the variable resistor, the ohm values were all over the place. I'm on the lookout for a new/used AFM, but has anybody ever had success cleaning/fixing that resistor problem?
