idle adjustment on '86
Hello all, I recently picked up an '86 rx-7 that i was told had a bad motor (it was'nt ) so far the only real problem I'm having is with the idle adjustment screw on the feful injection. The car only idles around 400-500 rpm, so I tried to adjust the screw, It makes no difference, no rpm change. I've tested the TPS, checked the BAC valve, searched for vacum leaks, and search the forums to no avail. Any sugestions????

i get the same thing, i can't seem to change my idle no matter what i do. Even when i changed my timing the idle went up to like 1000 rpm but it only stayed there for like 5 minutes, after that it went back down . my car idles around 550 or 600 rpms no matter what i do to the air adjust and the rich lean screw.

Try turning the idle stop screw in just a touch. In this picture, just above the tps. Small screw with a 8mm jamnut on top. http://www.rhichome.bnl.gov/People/s...rottlebody.jpg
