idiot light problems

this morning my warning lights worked fine. they all came on when the key went in, and went off with the motor running

tonight I noticed that theyre no longer turning on when the key goes in.

I installed my water temp gauge today, and had to tap into the IGN wire (black/white) for the power. other than that nothings really changed

the thing is, they still seem to work. the door, seatbelt, and hatch ones still come on when theyre open. not sure about the eninge warning lights though

help?

have you re-soldered your body computer lately? I re-did mine a few months ago and mine work perfectly. Like Icemark said, s4 or s5?

s4 turbo II.

I was thinking CPU aswell. there seem to be a few little intermittent problems (like the key/headlight beeper workiung only sometimes)

just needs to be resoldered then? should I REPLACE the solder, or just heat it up

a good idea is to remove the solder form the connection pins and add new. when i did it i didn't have a good solder remover so i just heated up the old solder and added a new drop of solder

Yep, the trigger lead for the S4 to turn on all the lights comes from the S4 CPU (S5 models entirly different).

I am assuming you have not changed the alt recently???

Replace the alt trigger relay in the CPU or try resoldering the ECU if you have not replaced the alt and this started happening
