identifying engine/injector impendence?

Hi all. I recently blew my 87 t2 motor (apex seals ) and I just got a 87 t2 long block that I am borrowing from an awesome friend. Before I drop it in and plug it into my older t2 ECU (since this engine didn't come with its stock ECU), is there a way for me to check the injector impedence without taking off the UIM?

Hmm... now that I think about it .... if I use the wireing harness the comes with it I will have to rewire the harness's wrong wires again. (the wire to the alt and temp sensors... ) This engine came with the turbos ECU wireing harness AND the wiring harness that goes to the tranny, starter and such. Should I take out my NA's ..... side(?) harness and put in that one? I could have done that before with my doner t2 car, but didnt see the need...... How easy is it to take that harness out? Is that the one that goes to the dash? The dash harness looks like it would be very annoying to take out....

Also there is a little black box on the wiring harness right by the pressure sensor box. (its on the lines going to the pressure sensor) Im guessing it was a homemade fuel cut defender? Looks pretty cool.

you can test the injector impedance with a multimeter, you would need to remove the uim probably

as far as the starter/battery harness if it was working before, why mess with it? its not hard to remove btw. it doesnt go to the dash.

that probably is a home made fcd.

Cool, well after going back and looking at the motor, I have decided to keep my starter/battery harness only because I have already custom'ed the alternator and temp wires. I wish I would have changed it before I did that. Then I wouldnt have to custom the transmission wires. Anyways, the engine wiring harness on the borrowed motor looks like it has been fiddled with QUITE a bit. A lot of wires spliced and there is even a black one with a white stripe (im guessing ground) that is Y'ed out twice. haha. I think I will just take off the UIM and put my wireing harness on this motor. Sounds the best. Also Im scared about that FCD haha. I didnt make it, no clue what it is so it will be best to ditch it.

Thanks guys, back to the 7 I go.
