Identify this

This is my first time working on a NA manifold, so i'm having trouble figuring out what these pieces are and where they go.

Note all emission components removed, no 5th and 6th port.

1st

What is this and where does it connect to?

2nd

Something is missing here, what is it?

I'll update more as i put this engine back together.

thanks

The first thing is the VDI actuator. It connects to one of the solenoids on the rat's nest via a vacuum line.

The second thing is the mounting point for the BAC valve. I was wrong with my first assessment. It's definitely the BAC.

The VDI controls the 6th port? Since im not using the 6th port could i just leave the VDI like that or do i need to block it off or something?

I'll block off the BAC, the BOP is different shape so i didn't know.

thanks!

The VDI is different from the 5&6 ports, it's an S5 only thing. It works in a similar way to the 5&6th ports though. I'd keep it (and the 5&6th ports for that matter) functional if at all possible, for the best powerband.
