Exclamation I want some ideas, JDM FC3S S5

Hello, I'm new to rotary, And I'm become concerned about the new car I bought, This is my Second JDM car and know a fair amount about cars.

I sold my first Silvia for something a bit more race and drift like that wasn't going to end up being a big fad. I came across a FC at auction in Japan, all i knew about the car was this:

The auction sheet translation read like this:

RX-7: FMIC, AM/turbo, AM/suspension, lowered, AM/wheels, AM/roll bar,
AM/LSD, AM/muffler, body color changed, AM/aero mirrors, rear spoiler,
AM/air cleaner, AM/steering wheel, AM/meters, AM/turbo timer
hole due to modification on front inner fender, front fenders are modified,
there are small scratches and dents, stone chip in windshield, right door
doesnt open and close well, door trim cut and modified, seat is worn,
cylinder is exchanged, no stereo

And was apparently a Enfini Version 3, But people have had their doubts, I'm not overly concerned about it.

So I bid on it, thinking ok, ill bid really cheap, and I won it. SO when my exporter got it, she sent me picutures, here are most of them:

I'm told the turbo is something like a T04E.

And I bought some stuff and had it Installed in Japan. I also bought a CorkSport MazdaSpeed copy Front lip.

Piaa Super Rozza with tires $400
17x8F
17x9R

And I got a Bee-R Rev limiter on the way to, I don't know if I should install it.

I'm worried about fuel management and fuel cut, and detonation.

Please post up anything construstive

thanks,

Braden

lol Yeah dirty engine bays are common, I want to re-powder cost the charge pipes get rid of the fan shourd, get a grounding kit, ect.

My exporter told me the car runs well. I'm worries about tuning, There are no tuning mods listed. It could even be ported

If your going to get rid of the fan shroud/clutch fan. you need to go with a EFan b/c your going to over heat like a bitch if theres no cooling on it. It wouldnt be a bad idea to reground the whole car, these cars are netorious for grounding/wiring issues. I suggest grounding it all off to one point. Ive heard people grounding it off the ground wire for the battery.

As for the mods, you wont know till you look.

If the stock clutch fan works, then I don't think it is necessary to remove it for an e-fan. Maybe for simplicity's sake, you may want to remove it.

FD aren't legal here till very late this year. If you lived here you would understand why I hate Skylines. EvoI's arent even legal yet, 15years to the month.

What sort of oil should I be using?

In case you think otherwise, neither of these mods will gain you any performance or reliability. Both are highly over-rated in the aftermarket. An e-fan will give you no improvement in power or cooling compared to the stock thermoclutch fan, and grounding kits are massively over-priced for what they actually do (or don't do). You could achive the same results by spending $20 at an electronics store OR by simply cleaning up the stock ground points.

Very nice car BTW.

FC's are also notorious for being owned by people who don't understand grounding issues. The idea of "regrounding the whole car" is nonsense and completely unnecessary.

The stock clutch fan is far simpler than a proper e-fan set-up...

Nice car! Makes me miss my JDM FC Oh well I'll have my JDM Supra TT soon enough I'd fully inspect the frame when you get it, as it is a grade A car (accident repaired) and has probably been in a serious accident before, maybe even PTL'd (Previous Total Loss). The fact that it has a roll cage and is pretty extensively modified leads me to believe it was probably a touge car, which is sweet because then you know what it's capable of and will make an excellent track/drift car. Make sure you get the DTSS eliminators and a steering angle kit first though (if it doesn't already have one). Also if it tops out at 180 like mine did, all you have to do is take the guage cluster apart and remove the peg with "180" beside it. Be sure to ask if you have any other questions about it, I got to know my JDM FC pretty well when I had it.

This car has lots of clues that its and Infini 3 that got painted The power steering pump tells me its 3, Also some people just dont like the Infini factory seats and sell them off.

This is kinda deja view as few weeks ago one my other friends bought a car just like this an Infini 3 that had been painted purple.

Thanks, we have had really good luck with accident cars. And I am hoping it will be pretty crazy, I'm just really hoping it is tuned properly. Why do you have to remove the peg?

Yes, I got my exporter to buy new wheels from Garage one and I found the Exhaust on Yahoo Auctions Japan

I'd pull that cage out unless you plan on wearing a helmet every where you drive it. Padding would help a tad, but if you crash and no helmet..... Not pretty. Unless of course you will only be using on the track and will always be wearing a helmet.

I'm gonna daily driver it. We've never had a problem with caged cars before. Its part of the reason I bid on this one.
