It's not really difficult it is just a little time consuming, especially if you are going to put a manual sterring rack on your car. The PS and AC bracket that they are bolted to takes a little persuasion to get it off, but that is about the hardest part.

it is not hard at all.. as long as you have proper tools it should take about an 1-2.. you'll like the engine bay room afterwards also. and save 100 lbs of dead weight. in my case my A/c never worked. and i didnt like the (softness) of the powersteering. so i took everything off, cut the powersteering lines. eventually went back and installed regular bolts in place of the old bango unit's. and that's it.
there is also part of the power steering lines that runs to the front of the car.. behind bumper. it looks like an a/c line but it's a cooler line for the p/s. take it off. it's a little hard to get out from under the battery, just wiggle it. it will come
let me or US on the forum know if you need anything else

OK it wasn't that hard but it would have been 10 times easier if I could have taken the AC compressor out before the PS bracket, but to get the AC out you have to take the PS bracket off. And there is that one aggervating bult that is behind the AC compressor that you have to take out 1/20th of a turn at a time, and it seems never ending. Oh well I just wanted to bitch, but it is much nicer to work on with all that crap out of the engine bay.

I don't see why you need a write up on it, if it is attached to what you are trying to take out and doesn't look that important, hell just rip it off.

Not everyone is a DIY'er w/out some aid....bolt sizes and a guide to go by. And not everyone feels comfortable with just doing like you said and "rip it off"......especially when you payed for your car.

I couldn't, the hoses were holding it in it's general place of in the way, and I couldn't unbolt the hoses on the top of the compressor until I got the power steering out of the way. And there was some other reason that I couldn't take it all the way out with the PS in the car still.
