I want to buy an ACT Clutch... Need help
I have an 86 NA with a blown clutch/flywheel. I'm looking at getting an ACT performance street disc clutch kit but I was planning on swapping the engine for a s4 turbo engine when I get the money (could be a year or more). If I get the Turbo clutch kit (ACT #Z65-HDSS) now can I use it on an s4 NA transmission/engine? or should I take a hit and buy a new kit when I get the new engine or get a stock kit as it's more difficult than it's worth?
The Turbo clutch requires a Turbo flywheel, which requires the Turbo transmissions, starter, and drive shaft. Then you run into the problem that the Turbo driveshaft wont bolt up to the NA differential without modification.
When I actually do the swap I plan on using the Turbo engine/flywheel and turbo transmission. I just want to know if the ACT Clutch and pressure plate will bolt up, fit and work on both NA and TII Transmissions/flywheel set ups
The ACT clutch will or with a turbo drivetrain OR an na drivetrian. Its not interchangeable if thats what your asking. But yes, if you swap all the running gear and have the correct clutch (turbo for turbo, NA for NA) they youll be happy.
Roen, you're suggesting that I buy the turbo II transmission AND drivetrain right? If I do that, can I use it with my NA block until I can afford the TII block?
So I guess my original question is answered; no I can't use the TII clutch/flywheel/pressure plate combo on a completely NA engine/transmission/drivetrain?

Yes, buy the either the full tii drivetrain: tranny, driveshaft, diff, axles or buy the tii tranny and the mazdatrix tii-to-na driveshaft.
If you do either of the two, then you need a TII-compatible (stock or aftermarket) clutch and flywheel.
Other configurations will not work, you can't mix and match, unless you have specialty parts (like the tii-to-na driveshaft)
