first off, ill give a little background on my car. (an 87 base) the rear differential mounts went out (i think). the car made a thump noise from the rear end whenever i pushed in, or pulled off the gas quickly. most of the time during shifting. so i was driving one day and my car started vibrating when i went over 10mph. i went home and its been parked there until today when i the differential mounts i got from mazdatrix came in. i went down the ally to turn my car around so i could work on it, and this awful grinding noise came out of the car and little peices of metal shot out of the sift boot and out from under my car onto the ground. now it makes a "cling" noise when i move the car (i had to push it back into the driveway) and the stick moves in a circle without going into any gears.

i know this doesnt give you a whole lot of information, but does anyone know how badly whatever broke is damaged? or somewhere to get it fixed?

 

that happened to my my brother's gtu. we swapped in another tranny. that sounds serious if its shooting metal everywhere.
