i think my clutch switch is bad
i'm talking about the little switch the clutch peddle pushes down...
for the past month every once in a while it wont start, then i'll take my foot off and repress the clutch and it starts right up. today i stopped at the store on my way home today and the car wouldnt start when i tried to leave, no matter how many times i tried. and i pushed the switch down with my finger and tried to start the car, noting
i had to push start the car to get home
i'm thinking its the clutch switch, unless anyone can tell me otherwise
anyone else ever have this problem?
i've heard about people bypassing the clutch switch, can you do that with an rx7 and if how?

Check your electrical connections before deciding its the switch. If you wanna take it out just undo the connector going to the switch and either cross the wires or do like I did and stick a short peice of wire into each side of the connector.

Get it started, take it for a drive...
Put it in cruise... Change gears and see if the cruise control releases when you press the pedal. (But be prepared for the engine to spin up fast).
If it doesn't release, it is probably the switch as you said.

starting: all the warning lights, and stereo goes off like its going to start but no noise that i noticed, like a clicking from the starter
i think i'm going to take the advise and disconnect the clutch switch and connect the terminals with a peice of wire and see if it cranks...

There's two switches on the clutch pedal. The bottom one is for the cruise control. It has nothing to do with the Interlock switch for the clutch.
The upper switch is the Interlock switch for the clutch.
