Unhappy I think I'm getting tired of my car.

I'm sad to say I think I'm getting tired of my car. I will have had it 10 years in May 2006 though I don't think that's the problem. It's mostly lack of power. I always wanted to do a TII conversion but either haven't had the money or when I did spent it on something else(Camry for the wife 'cause hauling a baby in a '90 Camaro was a PITA, then a truck which has been worth it simply for not having to haul trash off in the Rx7,then the money I had for a TII transmission on a 4-wheeler, and now I could but I'll be using it to pay off a credit card because getting out of debt is more important right now.). Anyway I regret none of that I think I'd just like more power or maybe something newwer. I think what partially did it in for power was driving the Camaro after we bought the Camry. It was a RS but had the Tuned Port 350 engine, disc brake rear end, and suspension from an IROC swapped in. That car had some power, but didn't handle as well as the 7. Sold it and bought the truck but considered selling the 7 instead. I still really like the 7 but it just doesn't excite me like it used to, and anymore I think that with the money it would take to go to the turbo conversion like I would want, I could just sell my car and take all the money and buy something faster than I would be after the conversion anyway. I'd like a third gen but I think they are overpriced for a 13 year old car. I could pick up a '99-2000 SS Camaro for the kind of money people want for 3rd gens and be faster and more reliable(stock for stock).Though both cars are currently out of my price range. A '93-97 Z28 is more realistic and has pleanty of power but I don't really like the nose on those cars. I may sell it next year and buy a sportbike.Anyway sorry to write a book I'm mainly just venting. I'm not wanting advice just curious if anyone else gets tired, burnt out on thier car, etc.Thanks.

If you can afford $10-15k for a 3rd gen or newer Camaro, you can easily afford to either do a TII driveline swap or just sell your N/A and get a Turbo II... But, if you've had it for 10 years, you're obviously older--so maybe now's the time to treat yourself with a newer sports-car?

I don't have 10-15k but 93-94 Z28's can be found for less than 8k in my area so I figure 3-4k for a swap plus what I get from my car would come out with enough to get in one. That and I think It's about two years out before I have the money for a swap so prices will be cheaper then. You are right though I would guess at 31 I am older than most people in the 2ng gen section. Affording it isn't my issue though. It's when I am able to afford it I don't know if I am motivated to do it anymore. I might buy something else instead. Case in point is right now I'd rather buy a used sportbike than do a turbo conversion. I could pick up a 3 or 4 year old R6 or GSXR for that kind of money. I think that may be the answear keep the Rx 'cause I hate to part with it and buy a sportbike to have something fast and cheap on gas to boot. One thing I didn't mention is I do not plan on borrowing the money to do any of this so it will only happen when I can pay cash for it.

you say you like the hp of the camaro but the handling of your rx-7? v8 rx-7 all the way. lt1 pullouts have gotten pretty cheap and it is a straight forward swap.

...and don't anyone get all shitty with me for my opinion. i am not bashing the rotary i am simply suggesting another possible option.

It has crossed my mind but I don't know if I want the added weight. I guess the added power would offset it. Right now I think I'd prefer to stick with the rotary but who knows.
