Question I think I WTB something...vac hose pill...

I haven't noticed any problems with my car, but I read a few posts for problem 2nd gens, and I noticed people suggesting to test the boost line (N/A RX-7s, comes from the boost or vacuum sensor on the p. side fender) and make sure the "pill" or check valve is still in place. Well, I replaced my lines with silicone hose, and obviously this vacuum line is long in the trash. Do I need to replace this line? Should I have problems right now, besides my personal problems?

Well, if you think I need this line, and anyone has a series 4 N/A parts car with this line still attached, consider this a Want To Buy thread.

Really, I've never seen a marked difference in having or not having the pill. You can probably make one from a carb jet or something from a parts store - you just need to restrict airflow to about a pin hole. There's nothing super fancy about the pill.

Several people on this forum have left out the orifice and the result has been semi violent hesitation when hard on the throttle around 3500 to 4000 rpm. I had this happen to me on my 87 na when I changed out the hose b/t the boost/pressure sensor and manifold. Corrected immediately by reinstalling the original line.

But others have stated no problem without it. Its purpose is to eliminate spikes to the sensor.

Well, I guess if it's supposed to be there then I'll go ahead and put the OE line on. Add that to the to-do list. Thanks for the help!
