I think I mixed up my injector plugs!

This whole engine swap has been a real learning experience for me. So I went back and redid a couple vacuum issues I had missed. BUt now, I took my primary injectors out and forgot to label the plugs this time!

How can I tell which plug goes to which injector? Or does it make no difference whether I plug primary injector 1 and 2 into either plug? It's an S5. I know I really should have labeled them...dammit...

Thanks guys, I'm almost ready to start it up!

Well, if you have the wiring harness laid out correctly, each plug should be *closest* to it's corresponding injector. The longest leads go up to the secondary injectors (in the LIM), wheras the shorter leads go to the primaries (in the irons). Logically, I don't think matters if you swap the P1 and P2 plugs and vice versa.

okay. I do have the primary plugs in the right area, just wondering if I can switch between primary one and 2, or if it must be connected to the right injector for the rotor. So if P1 and P2 aren't affected by swapping the plugs around I should be fine.

The Secondary injectors are hooked up right.

It does matter which way around the primaries are connected, because they're fired sequentially when they're firing by themselves (no secondaries). It doesn't matter with the secondaries because when they come on all four injectors are fired together.

It should be very clear which plug goes to which injector, because if you got it wrong you'd have to really pull on the wiring to make it reach. Each plug will natually sit closer to the right injector. If you're still not sure, pull back the rubber and look at the colour of the wires:

Front primary: B/Y and LG
Rear primary: B/Y and LG/B
Front secondary: B/Y and LG/W
Rear secondary: B/Y and LG/R

NZ, thanks so much! I'll get them hooked up right this time. Hopefully my vacuum and wiring headaches are over for awhile now.
