Angry I Think I Killed It....

I HAVE AN 88 RX-7 CONVERTIBLE AND A BIG DILEMA WITH IT. SO FAR THE CAR HAS AIR LEAK OUT OF THE PRECATS AND I DECIDED TO PARK THE CAR AND LEAVE IT UNTIL I CAN GET IT FIX. WHICH I THINK WON'T BE ANY TIME SOON. I DO DRIVE IT AROUND THE BLOCK ONCE A WEEK, BUT NOT IT WON'T EVEN START UNLESS I HIT THE STARTER WITH A WRENCH. THE CAR IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE AND IT'S TAKING A LOT OF ROOM IN MY GARAGE SO MY WIFE MOVE IT OUT SIDE AND PUT A COVER AND A "PLEASE TAKE ME HOME SIGN ON IT" I LIKE THE CAR AND ALL BUT I HAVE NO TIME TO FIX AND DON'T REALLY NEED IT SINCE I ALSO OWN A 10TH ANYVERSARY MIATA AND MY WIFE DRIVES A MUSTANG. SHOULD I FIX IT OR NOT THE CAR RIGHT NOW IS HOMELESS AND IT'S IS STILL FASTER THAN MY MIATA AND MY WIFE'S MUSTANG. ANY GOOD IDEAS........

Leaky pre-cats

Since you'll want to do a few things to increase the spirit of your vert, I'd suggest you go ahead and buy a cat replacement downpipe and presilencer from Racing Beat. Improves drive ability in the meantime. Then, just wonder the pick a part yards until you can find a decent replacement so you're set when it's time to smog it again.

What color is your Vert?

if you have to bang the starter before you can start it then the starter is toast. you need to replace it.

Sorry about the caps lock, anyways I have a new starter sitting in the tool box and I don't plan to put it on until I get the exhust parts first so that I can get everything done in one shot. My only question regarding the racing beat exhust is: Will it still pass smog or not? to me there is no point on getting something done unless is a permanent fix and legal. I don't like to really mess things up to the point that it will be impractical since it will have to be removed just to get it to pass smog. On the other hand it's a nice car even if I don't use it anymore, PS I do have a crappy sentra that I drive around during the week and for the weekend I have an almost new mint condition 10th anyv. miata mystic blue with all the toys. I just hope I get some time of to work with the Rex to get it back on the road....

BLACK RX-7 Convt. with 5% black all around tint and grey leather int, sony ex system and 10" subs, intrax lowering springs and factory BBS Rims with 215/50/ZR15 Pirelli's with interior Yellow MOMO components (shifter, pedals and trims)
My brother just offered me 2,800 for it and a pizza LOL

Get the DP and and a high flow cat to pass emissions. After you get the exhaust fixed and the starter put on, put your wife out in the yard with a sign around her neck that reads, "Please take me home"

guess what fellas,....

i just took baby REX out for a drive today and after been parked for so long i thought it wasn't even going to turn over (motor) i took the cover off today to see the condition the car was and I almost cried. So dirty that I couldn't even make out the back window. Anyways I got in it and put the ACC switch on and the radio was Blasting to the sounds of TOO SHORT even the nighbor came out. i decided to go to the car wash and spend like 6 hrs on it getting it clean and ready... and at the end of the day the baby rex is back in the garage with a new set of driving music and the Mustangis now sitting outside with the crappy cover on it until it rust to death.....
