I think i have a fuel issue

Ok, so it randomly decides to start having this problem, whenever it feels like it, I hope it works tommorow. Ok here's what I got

First off the problem is loss of power, horribly rough idle, and a strange sound from the exhaust. Sounds like ignition break up. However plugs and wires are practically new, and it seems to be a lean fuel condition issue.

When AFM flapper is pushed in slightly, or variable resistor is turned rich, problem seems to want to go away. This makes me think it's running lean, however, in very high RPMs, there seems to be no problem, however, it may just be because it's erratic.

I'm guessing these are possible problems, any other suggestions?

Clogged filter
Bad AFM
Bad fuel injector(s)(They're leaking and i shut off the fuel pump with a switch to keep from flooding, maybe getting stuck closed now?)
Bad FPR
Bad fuel pump or wiring, or relay(I doubt it since the pump had been replaced before i got the car, however, I did run out of gas recently)

Obviously a filter is an easy, and quite possible fix. If not, i'm gonna' test fuel pump voltage, then, if that's not it, does anyone have a fuel pressure gauge or spare AFM I can borrow for an S4? I know where I could get one, but he's in Indiana. I live in louisville ky

Also, it seems to go away while on the expressway, I do have a cone filter right behind my headlight, is it possible heatsoaking could cause my problem? Or maybe it's just the erraticness of it, or possibly because fuel consumption is stable on the expressway.

If none of this works after everything is checked out I guess i'll be needing some injectors, anyone got some injectors for an 87 NA? Or is it possible to use turbo injectors? Maybe by leaning out the variable resistor? (Not sure on this one), then i'll be having the cleaned and put in.

It also seems to not have an issue if you shut it off and start it again, backing up the fuel fiulter problem im hoping, when its shut off i think the debris falls down to the bottom of the filter. Then it runs ok for a bit.
