I should of been more careful!

Last night as I was sleeping, and so, and when I woke up this morning, my car was broken into. They broke the ignition coils, and they were 2 seconds away from stealing my car, they flooded my engine, and now I can't start it, I'm totally lost for words right now.

Now the question I have is where can I get a new ignition, should I got to the dealership and order one, or what? New steering column.

If they broke the ignition coild, they I would saw that is your reason for not starting. If you cant find any, I have a set of coils and ignitors for sale.

I didn't want to sound like a noob saying it, I thought it might be simple. But yeah, how? Did you mean ignition switch?

Yeah, that would make more sense. Figure out what you need, and I'll see if I have it. Either way, your best bet is the classifieds section or a junkyard.

That scares me... I need an alarm sooo bad but I need tires and brakes and a bunch of other things right now too... I have that cheesy 80's alarm system that came from the factory on mine... It waits till you open the door then goes off... No shock sensors or anything... Sorry to hear about your car though...

The factory cheesy system disables the ignition system if the alarm is set off. It will not reset unless you have the keys to open the door locks. At least that is what my owners manual says...

Later,
Bill

^yup.

A fuel cut switch is a good thing to have too.

Going to a shady part of town or live there? A hidden fuel cut switch will help keep your car there

If you really mean coils then DON'T go to the dealership. You'll get raped. Go to a junk yard and grab them.

Ignition switch.. Not sure but I bet a junk yard car would do it. Then have a locksmith rekey it to match your doors

You know i was truly thinkin' that! I was gonna wait out there with a bat and just beat this out of them, but I parked it in my driveway, because I live in an apartment and my old car was in the driveway so it wouldn't get towed so I moved that, and pushed the 7 in

Well in the lock cylinder, the key goes in on the right side, and on the left side the coils are in it to connect the metal pieces to start the car right? and they broke the stuff out on the left side and bridges the two pieces with a screwdriver and it was turning but they were pumpin the gas! and now it won't start! because i tried what they were doing! this hurts me really bad! this is my baby they messed with, and potentially they could of blown my engine, because its having a bad leak. Agh! I want to kill them!

Who needs fuel cut, fuel dump to the rescue! Haha that's awesome. They didn't know enough to steal an RX7.

Sorry to hear that they damaged it though. Get an alarm man, their cheap if you DIY install.

You have a lock cylinder and a starter relay around the steering wheel. The ignition coils that make sparks are under the hood.

I was working on a system where if you don't have a fob on your key chain, the engine floods - until I fried the fob reader. I'll get back to that project soon because I'm paranoid about theft. Turn the RX-7's problem into a solution!

Junk yard or OEM (Mazda dealer). Then go to a lock smith to re-key the lock.

You might not need both, or there might be another small component in there, or you might have to buy/pull the whole assembly as one piece. I haven't taken a good look in there myself.
