I sent those diffusers where they belong...

...straight to hell!

Well I decided to start the porting portion of my project today and first up was the nasty diffusers in the exhaust ports. I ground the wings down them snapped them off when they got thin. From there I just ground down all the corners and lips left over as much as I could, pretty much. Took about 50-60 minutes to do both housings, not bad at all and really wasn't that hard. Only bad part were the red hot tiny metal shavings flying off and hitting my arm

Anyways, here are some pics I took of when I got the wings out and then ground them down. This is just one housing but the other one is the same thing so I didnt feel a need to post those ones. Now it's time to attack those intake ports!

Thx, I did my best to get all of the diffuser out, only thing left is the base of it which I didn't feel necessary to keep going, it's not REALLY restricting if at all, so I just left it as is

I was proud of myself after it was over, kinda scared at first being as this was my first time, but gotta start somewhere right? Heh

are you going forced induction? I have heard about power loss from turbulance in the N/A's exhaust flow.

Eventually, yes I will be, not until next summer or maybe longer, though. From what I understand and have read those are mainly for noise reduction and just restrict exhaust flow, so I'm saying bye bye to them! Plus I'm going for some large intake ports so I want it to be able to flow out better.
