I searched but no luck, Starving for fuel

ok i bought my car for 500 dollars, so at worst it needs a new motor, it was flooded so badly, im asuming it sat that way for months, now the car won't start(which is why it was sold to me) i narrowed it down to a fuel system problem, the car comes very close to starting but its just the sarter driving it, the fuel pump works( jumper) but not when i turn the car on, the relays are good, could it be a leak, clogged filter, improper pressure? im lost

Ok firs thing you can do to make sure its not a blown engine is a compression check. Anything above 85 on all three rotor faces on both chambers is "usable" not good but it should run. IF that comes back good then persue fixing the fuel/spark problem. Check for spark on the leading plugs. If they work it should fire up. For fuel there is a fuel plug that you can jumper to prime the system. This will allow you to watch for leaks and check the pump's operation. Other things to check are the pulsation damper, fuel pressure regulator, and all four injectors. Try switching the secondary injectors to the primary spots. If you have an early S4 also check the resistor pack as it may be bad. Try clening the intank fuel filter that attatches to the pump and getting a new filter for the one in the engine bay. Buy new plugs btw the old ones may be fouled beyond usability. Try draining the old gasoline aswell from the tank as gasoline doesn't stay usable forever. Go get some fresh gas(like 4+ gal) and see what you can do. Another thing to promote starting that you can do is put a teaspoon of two stroke oil into each chamber and rotate the engine by putting a 19mm socket on the main pully and turning it. Also make sure your battery is in good shape or have it charged so you get the highest possible starting RPM's.

Jumbbled and messy but that should help you.

Try leaving the jumper on the fuel pump when cranking.
