I need some help please!!!!!!!!

Please guys, I havn't been able to drive my Turbo for 1 week it freaking sucks!!! Everytime I start it It just revs up and then dies right away..I have checked for Vaccum leaks, fuel pump is working... My main question is...If the Variable Resistor breaks will this cause big problems??? Cause none of my friends seem to want to help me or anything and they know more than me about rotaries. So i dunno what to do, I miss my car dammit!!!!

If someone can give me some kinda clue i would appreciate it...

Thanks

A little more info, details, history of last recorded running, etc. would be nice.

Checked your airflow meter plug, and TID and turbo ducting/IC connections for massive vacuum leaks? What happens if you start it and hold it to the floor?

About has to be either a massive vacuum/air intake problem, or a fuel problem. FUel pump maintaining voltage? Gas in tank? Lines on right(cannot run reversed)?

Ill try to help however I can, Ive had some that did the same thing, but only after an engine swap or major intake work.

Well thats the thing, I just finished putting a new ported motor, It ran Awesome for about a month, then I went to close the butterflies a little since the motor had been broken in. It ran for another day then just stopped. Its an 87 Turbo 2, ported motor....

Thanks Hyp Im gonna make sure the fuel pump is maintaining voltage this afternoon

Sounds maybe like a bad tps. I really have no clue, but if it revs funny and then dies, sounds like the ecu has no clue where the throttle is. Try using the "Two Lightbulb" trick or two volt meters if you got em. Search on the resources section of this web site.
Also there are 3 different idle control solenoids - inspect them carefully. Start taking things off, if there are any leaks the car wont run (air leaks). Even a cracked intercooler will stall the engine. Inspect every single air hose and vaccumm line.

My car wasnt idling right when I got it. The previous owner thought it was a computer. I found a small plasic hose which runs from the intake to the idle control solenoid to have a large crack in it. WHAT?? $1 fix.

I agree with hypntyz7 - check your airflow meter and everything in between that and the turbo.&nbsp You've got a gigantic intake leak after the airflow meter.&nbsp You might want to also check the intercooler hoses - tug on them to make sure they are not loose.&nbsp Also, check that stupid 5/8" hose under the BAC valve - this needs to be clamped, and I have never seen them clamed from the factory.&nbsp These also tend to blow off under high boost if not clamped down.

There was a post just a few weeks ago where the fellow had the same symptoms. He was sure there were no vac leaks, but finally found that the connection at the intercooler to the throttle body had a crack. I've experieced the same symptoms when I first rebuilt my turbo and went for a ride without the intercooler bolted down. One good boost blew the hose off. Turned the key, car started for 2 seconds. Did it several times until I got under the hood and reattached the intercooler to the throttle body. Then again it could be another thing altogether.
