I need help!!!

I recently bought a 1988 Mazda rx-7 GXL and I do not know anything about the reliability of these cars. The car has only 77,000 miles on it. I am about to go off to college and don't know if this is the car I should keep. It seems as if the previous owners "tweeked" with the engine by adding a new intake, different fuel pump and new exhaust. I would like to have opinions on how long a 2 generation rx-7 would last me.
