I met a guy that hates the RX7!!!

I was in a parts stor and the kid on the other side of the counter said he had an second gen rx-7 and hates it. he said he could never keep the thing running. I thought he just didn't understand the motor. He would rather work on the stup pullers!!!
I just don't understand some people. How could they drive one of the greatest cars on the road and say they hate it?
I think I should beat him wiith my tire iron

look under the hood for a while, look serious, then tell him the apex seals are blown and it needs a new engine, then offer him $500.

Actually I offered to buy it from him. He said he took the motor apart and couldn't get it back together so it was sitting in the back of the car. He said he might sell it to me pretty cheap but it was a joint venture thing with a buddy so he would have to ask him too. I am going to call him tomorrow.
I also am trying to buy a 91 na from anther guy. this thing is a steel!!!
ported the engine, exhaust, all the jazz for 2 grand! I am suposed to meet up with him after he getts off work. I am so excited I have had a rubbery one all day long.
this makes two gen 2s. if I can get the other, that makes three, If I buy the gen 1 across the street for $400 that makes 4. which means I have a car for the street, solo II class and a ralley car, plus a parts car
"getting harder"

Let's say theoretically you had a problem with your car and you couldn't fix it no matter how hard you tried. Wouldn't you be pissed off? At some point you'd just give up.

That said hopefully you can benfit from his misfortune/problems.

Actually I'm glad that most people don't like RX-7's. Just think, If they where as popular as camero's. There would be one on every corner. You couldn't suprise the hell out of people when you spanked their domestic ***. People wouldnt say stupid **** about them like "Dont dem thangs got lots o problems" or " ha ha ha 1.3 liters ha ha ha" . So when I come acrross someone that hates their RX-7 I just smile and say "would you like to sell it?" .
I think if everyone loved the 7 as we do it would take a lot away from it's charm. So next time you meet someone who doesn't like the seven just smile and walk away. You can have the satisfaction of knowing something that they don't.

HAhah everyone in my auto tech class will tell you how much ii love rotary's and rx7's. You say rotary the first thing that pops into their head is david. MY auto tech teacher just gave me a magazine that had an article on the renesis. We were going to race am old probe versus a 1980 prelude cause we were bored and my teacher was like"No david wont drive that honda it dosnt say mazda on the side" I was laughing my *** off.

Yeah, I'd take it a step further than giving up. I'd find a decent mechanic. Or I'd join my local club to get support from people who have done rebuilds or fixed their own starting problems. :p

Giving up is not an option.

Except that if they were popular, we would still have them for sale in Mazda dealers in the US. And we wouldn't be having these inane arguements about whether the RX-8 is cool or not.
