Talking I just picked up ANOTHER S4!

I just picked up another S4, but this time I got it for $200 bucks! Only problem is that the trans is kinda fuct. Good shape, good interior, decent paint/ body, engine runs fine.

So what I figure is that I'll take the trans off of my RED one (Which is FULLY gutted, sans 1 seat, and the dash/ steering wheel), and swap it over to the other (Black) one. This way, I can make my RED 7 my Drift-spec (cage, bushing set, and Tie rods on order - debating on Tanabe coils), and build the other (Blak) one for WTFE.

I'll post pictures, soon. I gotta tow it to my shop, tonight, but may not get to it until next week.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

BTW: WTF are those jumbles in the message icon list?

Bastard?

Why yes. Yes I am

It's NA, unfortunately. I suppose there's a certain amount of irony in all of this:

A Guy who's made a name for himself tuning everything BUT 7s, buys TWO within 3 months of each other, and pays less than $400 bux for the both of 'em! (First one was $150)

AWSOME.

As far as our "Cheap ***, easy to find sevens," Don't assume this is the standard in the US. Alot of people can't find 'em for less than a couple of thousand dead presidents. I just happen to be lucky: My first one was bought off of a redneck, and this new one, off of a moron.

Ahhh.... God bless the Idiots and rednecks!

Oh...wait... I'm lyin'.

Just out of curiosity: What the HECK is a GTUsT!??! Spec? Trim?

MadRX7Racer has one, apparently. What's the big about 'em?

The new car is an 88... S5? Hm. At any rate, it's got a sunroof, no A.A.S, and no cruise control. I noticed that it's different from mine , because the front tow hooks are IN the front grill, not under. Also, the Radiator reservoir is located infront of the radiator, in the front bumper, instead of next to the battery like my 86 GXL...

Pics'll get up, tonight, promise.

Aye. Make sense.... What's so special about the car, though? I mean, yeah, 500 of 'em made, but without the badge, what's the difference?

ALso, I'll post pics of the lot behind my shop - all burn-marked and stuff

Tha PIX!!!

Here're the pix!

New 7
http://www.utistunts.com/Ant/Ants7/Black/

Old 7
http://www.utistunts.com/Ant/Ants7/Red/

The Red one (The 'Old' 7) is MUCH further along in the strip-job than it was, here in the pictures.

If interested - and I don't know who the hell would be - I'll post CURRENT pics of the Red 7, if requested.

Not a bad car (the "New 7'), even WITH the trans grenaded...

Yeah, I kinda noticed that in the pics, too. I think it's fron the ground that they're on... <shrug> Who knows....

Any notice the difference in Streering wheels, too?

My Red one has a Momo-style steering wheel, and the Black one, a one-piece with a molded "Mazda" section in the center (The Red one has a token thing that comes ouot, and has 'Mazda' printed on it)...

Here's what I've got for the differences:
Red 86: 140K Miles, AAS, Back Seat, Tow ring UNDER the front bumper, Radiator overflow next to battery, no skid-plate on trans, cruise control, power windows, Big exhaust manifold (actually, NOW it has a set of RB long-pipe headers), spoiler, pleathery seats, no security module or light plate, power steering has fill cap on PS pump, single block triple-din headunit (Radio, Tape, EQ)

Black 88: 213K Miles, No AAS, Tow ring IN the bumper grille, Overflow in front bumper, trans skid plate, No cruise control, manual windows, smaller exhaust manifold, spoiler, canvas seats, light plate on center console that says "security," Power steering doesn't have filler "cap" just a dipstick, had single block double-din headunit (Radio, Tape)

There may be others, but I'm not real sure yet. Other than these, they're damned near identical... Save those things... and the color

So is this an S4 or an S5?

both are s4, s5 didnt start till 89. the overflow difference is jsut between 86 adn 87. 86 had it by the battery and all others had it moved to the front. Your red one is a GXL so it has aas. the black one is a gtu, no aas. the red one probally has LSD the black one wont. The security light just means it has an alarm.

Coo. Thnx Grg. Was wondering what that was all about.... I'm sure you've seen this black one out at INTMO, a couple of times....

Oddly enough, BOTH have that funky, "double-fill" cap thing going on. One on the radiaotr, and the other by the thermo... WTF is up w/ that?

Leaving it to Grg to shed some light on the dim RX7 knowledge of Gainesville.

Yup. The GXL was $150 from a redneck, and the GTU was $200 from a moron.

LTFOL... Odd how that works, huh?

THat kid's moving to S. FL, and didn't give a **** about having it (Mommy's money), so he actually GAVE it to Porter (Yellow Evo VIII), and I bought it from him before he even took delivery on the car.

How the hell do I get these deals?!?

Oh, BTW, Will that TII manifold bolt up tp the NA? I know you'd said something to me about an adapter plate because of actuator clearance. You still have it (have you even mounted the new turbo, yet?), and/ or wanna get rid of it? Cost for pair?

im not sure if t2 manifolds are direct bolt up or not, im pretty sure there is some port matching to get them to work with a NA block, but if you use them you wont need a spacer to mount the turbo. Search soem more on turbo/na's. i still have spare t2 manifolds. My new turbo will go on soon, right after i put a/c back in.

coo. hey, if nothing else, you think it's possible you could run one of those manifolds by my shop, tommorrow? If not then, sometime, soon?

It's what? a standard T4 flange, right?

Oh, if you need a place to do ****, I'm at my shop ALL the time... Lemme know.
