Angry I just joined the no front spoiler club

I was on a 2-lane freeway and there was an Lexus SUV in front of me, car to my right and a truck right behind. Cruising along and all of a sudden I see this big black thing sitting in the middle of my lane that the SUV had just cleared. Damn chunk of truck tire about 9" high and about 3' long. I had no out, so I had to bite it.

After I got off the freeway I cruised by this bank window, saw my car's reflection and sure as sh*t my car's got a different profile.
I'm calling the Highway Dept. and giving 'em hell as my insurance ded. is $500. It was sorta getting flimsy anyway. I might just go ahead and get the FEED. Pisses me off....

Ah! So THAT's how those lip spoilers seem to disappear!

It's a shame too - the car looks so good with a lip spoiler, and 90% of the '89-91 Turbos on the road don't have 'em.

try the corksport mold of the mazdaspeed lip...looks GREAT on a dark colored car, I have one on my claret mica 88 w/ the '90 nose and tails. It fits very well, finish is great w little need for extraneous prepping and it's CHEAP!!!! Great piece, I rave about it...

Yeah, they do look much better with them on - I like the way it juts forward.

I just left a msg. with a lady at the FL Dept. of Transportation after speaking with someone else in the office. The gal I spoke with seems to think that there's paperwork for me to fill out (good sign?).
I'm going to the Police Station now to fill out a police report too (lady on the phone was nice and suggested I do that as well).

I'll let you guys know what happens....everybody have a great wknd.

He COULD...

It's more likely they're out to get his name down to fine him for littering or something.

UPDATE

A lady returned my call today from the Dept. of Transportation. She's sending me some forms to fill out and then I have to send it in with some pics and a couple of estimates, so tomorrow I'll get a couple of estimates from the dealers.

I then have to send it to her and she sends it to Tallahassee. She also indicated that she gets a lot of truck tire claims thru her office, so things are looking up!

I'll post again when check is in hand...if that's the outcome.

I find this pretty funny. I hope you get some cash from them and fix your car. Seems like alot of people dont know what to do when this sittuation pops up. Keep us updated and hopefully people (including myself) will make the Dept. of Transportation pay for damage caused by large objects on the road. GOOD LUCK!

Happend to me too!

My front spoiler got demolished on the way to sevenstock. Hit a possum at 95 in the middle of Oregon. Broke in 6 places. Did a home depot fix job on it.

On the way back I did also his a tire. The marks from the tire are still on it. I could easily pass it off as damage from the tire.

Who do I have to contact to get this paid for?

Damn...sorry to hear about all these lips breaking. My friend had suggested to get mold release and make a mold of ur lip. Then spray and/or lay fiberglass into the mold. When laying you should put about 7 layers of fiberglass to make it nice and strong(to an extant). That way you could keep the original lip and just use the copy. Also if you ever break the copy you can make another one.

BTW...If anyone has a lip or sideskirts laying around that they don't want let me know. I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands I don't mind if it's broken. If it's stock Turbo II sideskirts or a lip that's cool too. Or if it's still intact and your looking to get rid of it or what not let me know too. My email is slidinrx7@hawaii.rr.com I'll pay(within reason) for the lip or sideskirts and shipping.

Thanks
