i just got my engine in and its crooked...
well i finally got it in. i placed the new oem Mazda mounts to there original location cause of the clean part on the bracket. this is how it turns out. just compare the front of the engine, to the steering rack. its very obvious. even though it is crooked, the engine and trans are bolted down. so i dont think it will really do anything, im going electric fan anyways. sorry if i seem confusing, its been a long day. and thank you rx7club for all your help.

It is def crooked but if you say its bolted down right then i guess it shouldnt be a problem. Wow! U live in nova? I thought i knew all the rx7 owners in the area. Hope it works out real well.

What engine mount bracket are you using?
Specifically the driver's side?
Some J-spec engine brackets are *different*.
I would think you would be safe with your original engine brackets?

Are the engine mounts installed properly?
There's a raised dimple on the top that's supposed to align in the "slot".
Also, did you reinstall the bottom "cups" on both sides?

Also keep in mind that naturally the engine is a little crooked in the engine bay from the factory. Mazda did that to assure that the driveshaft is at a light angle which keeps the u-joint needles lubricated.
But yours is too uneven. Looks like the mounts are not seated properly in the subframe slots.

How does the tranny and driveshaft line up with the diff? If they line perfectly I would not worry. Although you should check the mounts to make sure they are not bent or worn.

i took pictures of the mounts to show you where i have placed them. i never did clean the mounts, so you can see where the original placements were.
passenger side. this is looking at it with your feet hanging out the front side of the car.
and this is the driver side. same point of reference.
so that is what i see. thanks again.

I think you got the top stud upside-down?
I think the stud goes on the bottom and the raised divot goes on the top?
It's weird, cause it looks like you got it right looking at the clean spot on the passenger side mount...
Also, the bottom stud will seat naturally from the engine weight.

don't go by how the old motor sat.get in between the motor and the rad support, bolt the mounts tight on the engine side and a few turns on the cross member side.then get a good hold and physically shift the motor pushing on the passenger side.line it as good as you can and it should be good.
