I have a series V motor and my buzzer comes on at 7500rpm, wtf?

My buzzer comes on at 7500rpm, it used to come on later at like 7900-8000. Plus my car feels slow. Here's the story:

When I floor my car it feels fast up until about 6500-7000rpm then it feels slow as ****. my 1/4 mile times are an average of 16.3@84mph. Why 84mph, I seen some dudes with the same mods do at least 87mph. My question is why is my car slow, and why does it seem like something ain't working right. Should i check my fuel pressure to see if it is too rich.

Here's my mods so far90 GTU)
rb downpipe & presilencer
Cone intake(I actually ran faster with my stock airbox w/k&n drop in)

I've changed my fuel filter too and i'm saving to buy a new o2 sensor.

damn this is frustrating, i'm just trying to make everything run right with my car. thanx

What's your 60' times?
Try to runs when there's a big race that weekend - they spray VHT all over the starting box when there's a big race, else the track is very slippery most of the time.

16.3 is frickin fast for HRP.&nbsp I've seen a pair of Zenki NA's duke it out for 16.9's and 17.0's with FULL exhaust.

Ted is definitely right...16.3 is extremelly fast for what you are describing. However, me being a biased drifter will tell you that your car was never set up to be a dragger. If you wanted to nab a dragger I would recomend a Turbo II. Try putting on some stiffiners and go up against a Turbo II driver with the same mods as you in a drifting match....here is news for you, you will win.

No really it feels like some sort of hesitation, the tach needle slows down after 7000rpm, i swear it used to be faster. my fastest time was 16.1 I was hoping for at least a 15.99. BTW TEd, you've been to HRP before?

thanx

Check the normal things. 6 ports move freely, vdi working etc. (Don't ask, just do a search) and change the plugs, not the o2 censor.

The shift buzzer thing seems to be a problem with age. My 90 starts buzzing anywhere from 7,500-7,900. Just be happy you don't have one that comes on at 6-6.5k like some people on this board. CJ

i used to have the same problem, id say check the 5th and 6th ports, mine were cloged for a long time and i couldnt figure out why i had no power. and i used to have the buzzer problem similar to yours but it fixed itself when i got my ports cleaned out.

I'm originally from Honolulu.
I had the unoffficial fastest FC there for a while at 13.446 @ 105 - hope somebody beat that by now!

The over-rev buzzer can be adjusted with by a little potentiometer in the (i think) instrument cluster.. Do a search for how to adjust it.

I would'nt think it was ignition break up. I have a hi-6 on my car, and my car does the same thing. Also, according to the dyno, i don't realy have any ignition problems at all. It put down 167rwhp with no problems. I like to call it a hair under 170rwhp. Actaully according to Rob at Pineapple, with the more and more miles i put on my car, it should pick up more and more hp to a point. Also dyno's are very touchy, and it would'nt be stange if my dyno results where off 5-10hp off. We picked up 10rwlbs of torque just by backing off the tension on the straps! Boy, did i go way off subject?? But anyways, i would'nt think it would be ignition break up, but i could be wrong. CJ
