i have no heat!! help!
i have absolutly no heat in my 88 rx. air blows but it is cold. also my defrosters dont work and air dont come out to the floor when i switch it over on the buttons, only places air comes out is the 4 main vents on the dashbrd. what can cause my car not have any heat? and what could also cause my car for them other vents not to work? please help me out. its cold as hell when i go to work and home.
your logicon is fucked. its the control box that controls the vanes for the hot/col air ratio goes in your car, it also controls which vents are open and shut. You can try to resolder it, cause the cold solder joins prolly shorted together, or shell out a fuckload of money for a new one. If your rear reforsters aren't working, check if the connection at the window isn't broken, otherwise your switch isn't working. I think you can fix the switch yourself (not sure) or you can shell out another fuckload of money for a new one.
money is no problem, were is the logi b\s thing located at? my rear defrosters work ,its just the control things were u can set were u want the air to blow. rite now im just conserened about my air blowin cold when i have the switch all the way on red for heat. could it be the thermostat?
im almost absolutley sure that it's the logicon, because if your thermo was messed up, your engine would barely be heating up. I forget exactly where it's located (ill find out for you if you want) but it literally controls the amount of hot air or cold air comes in. if its broekn, a lot of the times it gets stuck at full hot or full cold. According to murphy's law, it'll be full hot in the summer and full cold in the winter. it also controls fan speed, and that sometimes doesnt work if the other controls dont work.
The only other possibility is that the actual motors that control the internal vanes are broken, and that'd be a REAL pain in the *** to fix.
