i have a few ?s
ok ppl i got my first rx-7 yesterday. it is a 87 turbo II and i love it. but it needs a new motor. so i have a few ?s until i get thee motor.
1. where can i get a good guaranteed motor. that will last?
2. how hard is it to rebuild one of these? my father will help me and he is a mechanic and i am mechanicaly inclined.
3. can i clean some old spark plugs and put them in the current motor? just to get it running good enough to move it around the yard and maybe down the street once or twice.
thanks for all your help,
derrick

If you think by putting some plugs in (used ones at that) that you can "move it around the yard" or "down the street once or twice," what makes you think it needs a new motor?
Instead of cleaning the plugs, go by 4 brand new ones. They're not expensive and you can get NGK's at Advanced Auto or another local supplier.

according to auto zone they are 40 bucs for each leading and trailing. and it is overheating bad. it will run but it runs hot very quick. so therefore bad cooling seals. and im sure it has bad apex seals. so i would rather just bandage it up to move around until someone tells me a reputable place to buy a motor.
