i have a big proble plz help me

ok so i just got back from mexico and the car(87 TII rx7) has sat for 1 month and today i took her out for a drive and yea she started fine but hten i let her sit for a min and it was having problems starting. it would turn over and seem like it was going to start and then it just died. so then i got her home and noticed that there was smoke coming from under the hood so i pop the hood and the smoke is coming from the exhaust manifold but i can see the exact place that its coming from. plz help me

sounds like a failed water seal. Before you ask, the remedy is unfortunately a rebuild.

hey it could be flooding.. what color exactly is the smoke?? is it a sweet smell or anything? My guess would be a leaky injector from the way your explaining it.

if it makes you feel better I only know those symptoms from browsing this site, never experienced anything first hand, and this is my first Rx-7 owning it only for a year, so I am not familiar with detailed diagnostics. It might be something else. Is the smoke bluish or whitish? blue-ish indicates burning oil, white-ish indicates coolant. The thing that scares me is that it is near the exhaust manifold, only thing I can think of that'd leak there is coolant, and the only reason I can think of is a busted seal. I hope for your sake that I am wrong, but it is MY only personal conclusion.

Sweet smell is most likely coolant, smell the plugs and see what they smell like. Also try unflooding the engine. See if that will get it to start.

is it A LOT of smoke? or is it just a puff of smoke?

Still try to unflood it though.. See if that fixes your problem. If its a leaky injector thats causing it not to start.. It can be a quick 5.00 remedy with a fuel pump kill switch until you get your injectors cleaned or some new ones.
