I got my precat removed, but it isn't a precat...

I got my precat removed, but it isn't a precat...

... It is just a baffle. The down pipe from the manifold is hollow and straight through, and the buldge afterward is just a hollow baffle. After that is the main cat.

I will say though that there is a slight difference in the low end on the car since I removed it, and the car is noticeably louder. I was just always under the impression that it was just a small cat converter for startup.

I brought it home with me if anyone wants pics. The damn thing has a heat shield, fiberglass insulation, then the pipe. I wasn't expecting the fiberglass either.

What is it off of, a TII? The precats are supposed to actually be small cats. The two on my vert were, and they should be on all FCs. The precats help with cold start emissions. Does it look modified/custom in any way?

Nope, it looks like it has been there 20yrs. I'll get some pics when i get back in a few.

Btw, I have a 90 vert.

89-91 cars only have 1 precat, but they have something that kinda looks like a second one. if the precat is hollow, looks for the pieces in the main cat

I checked for that, there was no rubble in the main cat.
