My car is still in peices

I removed my ACV & Airpump (blocking that off) I think it'll help a bit for room when you're trying to get to the pesky bolts. I removed the Turbo so I could get to the bolts on the Lower IM. It opened that area up alot. The bolts to the precat were a pain in the *** with the ABS in the way but they did finally budge. Remember to flush your coolant system otherwise buy alot of floor dry I think it's 6 or 7 nuts that you have to remove for the lower IM. I haven't undone any vacuum lines nor the injector stuff yet since i didn't have the gaskets to replace them with until about 20 minutes ago. Good luck I know i'm going to need it

If your looking to do just the actuators, then you do NOT need to take off the air pump. Even if you are looking to lean the inserts (sleeves) themselves, you still do NOT need to remove the air pump. The lower manifold is held on by six bolts - 4 at each corner, 2 in the center (kinda). The actuators are attached to the side of the lower mani and are held on by 2 10mm nuts each. Its cake. holla with more questions.

Have you considered getting a service manual? The Haynes books is good for stuff like this.

I've got one of those plus the d/l from fc3s.org of the service book I think? All helpful.. hopefully in putting it back together heeh I'll finish my project once my silicon hoses get here so that I can pull it and put it back together as quick as possible instead of pullin git putting in the gasket and 'o' rings that have failed and then wait till the silicon hoses get here to do more work.

4 bolts to remove the Intake. At the 4 corners of the Lower Manifold. 2 nuts at the bottom center of the LM. You will have to deal with 2 more little bolts that retain the metal lines In position. One In front of the Manifold (towards the Air Pump) and the other to the opposite end (Infront of Split Air Pipe).

It really Is suggestable to remove the Actuators, Air Control Valve and Air Pump while taking out the Lower Manifold.

Also, just In case you have to ask, when you put the Auxilliary Port sleeves back In, be sure to put them back In so the side openings of the ports are facing AWAY from the engine. Just Imagine a verticle line going to the middle of the Actuators.
