the head of the bold snaped compleatly off! Now i have the whole thread of the bolt stuck in there!!

i've never experianced anything like this and im not sure what to do! Can i still drive it to the shop?? will they be able to take care of it???

just weld the cap on

thats a joke by the way

You should be able to extract it given that its not seized in there. Damn near every auto store should have a bolt extractor set, and its money well spent too. Make sure when you're drilling it that you don't go cockeyed in the hole.....and center punch the bolt before you drill so you don't walk the drill around it or 1/2 an hour.

edit: a basic extrator set is a square tapered punch with teeth that will bite in whe its turned counter clockwise. You drill a pilot hole in the bolt - hammer the extractor in and crank that **** outta there

get a hammer/pick and hammer it out very carefully. Then when its out enough get some pliers and take it out.

Or if the bolt head is high enough you cut a slot with a drummel and take it out with a slotted screw driver. Done it many times.

THis will be a VERY valuable skill to learn as you work on older cars Especially once you start getting down to the underside/rusty bits...

oh quit being a drama queen and take it out.. if you work on cars it happens.. i have done that to those bolts on more than one time.. i take the damn thing out and replace it with a better bolt.. i broke them using minimum torque maybe they get old...
