Wink I did a seats swap.

Hi, i have a 1990 GTU and bought some GXL leather seats from a local seller. I was thinking those of you that had leather seats, what types of protectant did you guys used to prolong the life of the leather? Giving me some brand name would be great so I can look for them in auto stores.

thanks

I use Lexol, that's what was recommended by leatherseat.com guys at the time I redid mine.

So far so good, my vert is not out that much but I do it once a month in the summer.

I've also heard Mothers was also very good.

+1 on this stuff, I used it on my old leather seats in my write-up.

I've heard the oil you use for a baseball glove works pretty good.

Yep! That was me actually... its all in the write-up linked above. Its called neatsfoot oil. Lexol ends up a little nicer IMO since it doesn't leave it super oily and come off on your skin... The neatsfoot will eventually soak all the way in, but I towel off the excess.. takes a while sometimes. But, over time, my neglected seats have drank a LOT of this lexol stuff.... They keep looking better and better. Eventually I'll get'em re-covered, but for now....
