I checked the archives, rats nest removal
I want to get started on this project, but I hate when I dont start with the right stuff. I have seen a few write-ups on how to do this, and thats great. I'll use them
I have not seen any of those write-ups describe what size vacuum caps, quantity, fuel line size, etc. shown. I would just like to know if anyone has that info, or knows where to get it, thank you.

Fuel line is 5/16, most places cary 3/8th but I find sometimes it leaks unless you have good clamps. The vacuum caps gets to be a bit tricky, I really don't recall the number. There's at least 8 or so that I can remember off the top of my head. Typically, I like to cut up the rats nest and leave the metal fuel lines in place. If I recall the vacuum hose size is 4mm, but you may want to double check that.

The ones I am more concerned about are on the front and back side of the LIM. I think the last time I did this with my last rx-7 I used a cap on the back side that looked way too small (had to squeeze it on), and on the front side I used one of those little mini air filters they sell at AutoZone.
I'm not sure if that was the correct think to do because I'm pretty sure thats metered air.

Take my advice on this one, I have done a lot of pressure testing for boost leaks and have been searching for reliable vacuum routing setups.
Use 3.5mm or 5/32" hose. 4 mm or 3/16" will work but if you are turbo they are going to leak as you crank up the boost. My pressure testing has confirmed this. You want them to be tight fitting.
For the vacuum caps, use the high temperature rubber ones from McMaster-Carr: "EPDM Rubber Caps" http://www.mcmaster.com/ctlg/DisplCt...54344087987953 . They also sell silicone ones but the silicone caps come in weird sizes.
These were recommended to me by single turbo FD owners. They are better made than the autozone ones as they are rated for high heat. They're a bit long but you can just trim the edge off with some cutters. Most of the vacuum nipples will use 5/32" , part # 6448K74 .
When you do rats nest removal you will have to decide whether you want to keep your main idle control systems--the BAC valve and thermowax cold idle system. I would recommend you do so, as they improve driveability and aren't that much of a pain in the ***. Clean the BAC valve though and replace the coolant hose on the rear iron to the TB.
You can order blockoff plates from http://www.2751engineering.com/2751parts.html or from Banzai Racing.

Theres writeups for each of the cars there, also has the sizes, although he doesn't tell you how many of each, I just bought a bunch of each and called it good, their cheap anyway.
