hybrid turbo
I know most of you guys are real fans of hybrids but lets just say with a 60-1 compressor, would I need to upgrade from stock IC, assuming I have the fuel covered.

And a stock, ported wastegate is ok? No boost creep?
The hybrid route is probably the one Im going. Someone pointed out, by the time you get everything for a TO4 setup, you could almost buy an FD. Very good point.

Not sure what you guys mean by "Hibrid" if the stock wastegate is ok then that means youn are using the stock exhaust part of the stock turbo? and then a different compressor housing? Sounds like just what I'm looking for. "me turbo is a bit wobbeley..." but I don't want to change a ton of stuff to fix it up and get a bit more HP. Can you guys elaborate a bit on these Hibrids?

Hybrids have advantages and disadvantages. I had a TO4 Hybrid on my first TII and wasn't satisfied with the power at all. On this new car i plan on going with a full blown setup. The hybrid will cost you less and make less power. Really the full blown TO4 isn't that expensive. Even going the cheapest route you can get away for under 2g's. I bought my TII for under 6g's and to tell the truth I wouldn't ANY FD that was selling for 8g's. The TII is a better built car anyway, have any of you broken your door panels just by using them to shut the door latley?

I was not including fuel and a FMIC or a BOV, a properly setup/tuned hybrid turbo requires all that also. SO!
Turbo - 650
Wastegate - 300
Manifold - 250 (RX7 store, HKS Cast...get a new supplier)
Oil/water lines - 150 (local place did SS stuff for my DSM for about that)
misc exhaust work ect wont be enough to put you over 2g's. You might have to live with a dumped WG, but its cheap.
cheap <> fast

So far, I've spent a LOT on just upgrading to S/S fuel lines for the HKS fuel pressure reg. Damn fittings are EXPENSIVE! Just getting 4 pieces -6 45 degree is $100.
When you replace one thing , you need to upgrade something else. Right now, my radiator cannot keep up so I need to replace that. The Greddy radiator was $450. Don't ask how much I've spent upgrading to a TO4.
You don't really need to do that much upgrading the compressor since you use everything stock on the turbocharger.
Let me see....things you need to upgrade for those interested:
TO4 turbo
TO4 manifold
s/s oil lines or water lines
external wastegate
intercooler
custom pipes
custom downpipe
fuel pressure reg.
s/s fuel lines and fittings
fuel management
additional injectors (AIC)
upgraded injectors
upgraded ECU or stand alone

What decision could you make to pursuade me to go with To4 over a hybrid?? I know that i just got an s5 Turbo, a Down pipe, and a bov. Do i really need the Bigger turbo? Won't a hybrid flow at least 15psi? What is the advantage here, IM willing to do it, it'll just take more time and more cash.... Is it worth it??

A full To4 will make more power. I do not feel the need to convice anyone. Do what you like, its all in what you want out of the car. Hell my car is bone stock, what do I know.

To really do a T04, its alot of work and money, you can do a half assed job and save some cash but there's alot of stuff to change to handle that big turbo..
I got away lucky and was able to build alot myself, however there was all the little parts like new fuel lines, oil lines, intercooler clamps etc etc, that **** ads up..
Also I went with a new gell cell battery relocated to the bin, added a inverter for my laptop computer, got the haltech..
I bought a tig welder which added to my cost, however it will get used on stuff other than the TII which will balance its cost.. I do alot of welding and fabricating so it was worth having..
Its a really big job.. But it should be worth when I am done..Max
